We emerged from the somewhat stuffy tents at about 8:30 a.m. I vaguely remember opening up the little windows when I realized the rain had stopped, but it wasn't breezy anymore, so I had to get out of the tent. Our campsite was a pretty awesome sight in the daylight. We were on an interior camp site, cheaper than the waterfront sites...but not so bad, eh?! (Also, please note the skies!!)

We got ready and headed back into Key West for breakfast at Blue Heaven. It's a place Josh and I had both heard of from travel sites (such as
TripAdvisor - one of my favorites) and the Jimmy Buffet song. (Jimmy does know Key West, right?) The place lived up to the hype. It was AWESOME. Meal two in Key West and the food was fantastic. 2 for 2. Nice.
One of its quirks were the chickens and roosters that were said to roam around the restaurant (not to mention around the town...but we'll come to that later)
See this first photo? That blurry bit in the middle is my first chicken sighting. This one was a bit camera shy. Kept running off when I'd try to snap the photo, but we figured out that feeding the chickens a little of our breakfast slowed them down long enough to get a few shots in.

Choosing from the menu.

A quiet moment for a teeny chicken.

Looking for scraps.

The local columnist topic. I think I agree with the headline.

I spotted a chicken under the table near our feet.

Another tries to run away before I shoot a photo.

Sam took my camera. I chose the blueberry pancakes from the special menu.
mmmm...

Sam gets artsy-
fartsy.

Josh has found something and wants the camera from Sam.

Up on a deck, Josh found a music room overlooking the street.

A sleeping cat hanging out in the room.

Sam takes the camera back from Josh and snaps this. Becomes Sam's favorite photo. Made him laugh again when he saw it on the camera on the ride home a few days later.

A rooster pops up on a fan, sounds off and sends a bunch of us up to take his photo. (Yes, I got my camera back)

A close-up of the performing rooster.

Sam took the camera back when Josh re-enacted his earlier photo.
Breakfast was a blast. The orange juice was also worth writing home about. The best - seriously - that I have EVER had.
